# Project: [short description]

## Layout
- `src/` analysis code, `scripts/` one-off runs, `data/` read-only inputs,
`results/` generated outputs (never edit by hand), `tests/` pytest.

## Conventions
- Physical quantities use astropy.units. No bare floats for fluxes,
  distances, frequencies or angles.
- Cosmology: astropy.cosmology.[Planck18]. Do not change it silently.
- Coordinates: ICRS unless stated. Say the frame when you convert.
- Random numbers: numpy.random.default_rng(seed) with the seed in config.

## Working rules
- Never modify files in `data/`.
- Before changing an analysis step, write or update a test in `tests/`
that pins the expected numbers, then run `pytest`.
- When a result changes, show the old and new value and explain why.
- If a required input (beam, redshift, calibration error) is missing,
stop and ask. Do not assume a value.

## Checks before you finish
- `pytest` passes.
- Every figure saved by the code has axis labels with units.
- New numbers in text or tables come from code that is in the repo.

How to check the result

Give the agent a task that tempts it to break a rule (for example, a missing beam size) and see whether it stops and asks.

Where it fails

To be documented after testing.
